Mt. Holiday's Great Pumpkin Dash: Oct 17 Are your family and friends sick of waiting for you at the finish line? It's time they joined in the fun! On Saturday, Oct. 17, join us at Mt. Holiday's Great Pumpkin Dash, sponsored in part by Meijer. It's a competitive, timed 5K trail run that's followed by an untimed family friendly 2K pumpkin lug. The 5K Jack-o-lope is a traditional 5K race, tackling the woods and hills of Mt. Holiday. The 2K Pumpkin Lug is for families, singles, and kids. Costumes are highly encouraged!! Participants pick a pumpkin from our patch and proceed to "lug" it around a 4-station obstacle course. You can do this as a single racer or as a four-person relay. Kids decorate their pumpkins afterward. There will be cider and donut holes for the finishers. Prizes for best costumes, heaviest pumpkin lugged, etc. will be awarded. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Mt. Holiday along with other local nonprofits. Visit www.greatpumpkindash.com to register and find out more.
